PHILOSOPHY:   Participation in music has the power to transform lives. Even for those not intending on pursuing a career in music, the ability to play an instrument develops both a personal connection to the arts and a strong pathway to creative expression which are invaluable as a positive counterbalance to the ills and drudgery of everyday life. And playing the piano, especially, is a tremendous tool for exercising the brain and learning interdisciplinary skills which are useful in fields far outside the scope of music, alone.

Gerry Grosz teaches beginning & intermediate piano, jazz & rock piano, improvisation, music theory, composition, songwriting, mallet percussion, and beginning ukulele. He also works with vocalists (jazz, primarily) in practice and coaching sessions, and as an arranger and chart writer.

Gerry holds degrees in Music and Mathematics from Wesleyan University, and has been teaching privately for over 20 years.

Lessons are typically given at his studio in Corte Madera. Lessons at your home may be possible for an additional fee to cover travel time and expenses. Discounted pricing is available for financial hardship.

Thank you for taking an interest in Gerry Grosz's music and private lessons.
